bearing before you final tighten the pressure plate bolts. If it's not seated all the way into the bearing the input shaft will never line up. Tighten the pressure plate a little at a time and make sure the alignment tool doesn't slip out of the bearing. If you're using a needle bearing like the Nismo, your alignment needs to be perfect when you stab the tranny or you will destroy the bearing. It only takes a little off center bump to dislodge the needles. A bushing, on the other hand, is much more forgiving of installation abuse.
